Do I need to be a mother-tongue English speaker?
No. You don’t need to be a native English speaker to take the course. You should have a strong command of English and be confident enough to teach it.

What are the admission requirements?
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have completed secondary school. You should already have strong English proficiency (at least C1 level) and be able to demonstrate this through your previous studies or current academic work in English.

How is the course structured?
The course runs over eight weeks. Weeks 1–7 are completed online through interactive modules, collaborative activities, and trainer guidance. In week 8, trainees attend a face-to-face teaching practice week in Cape Town.

Is the practical teaching week compulsory?
Yes. The in-person teaching practice week is a mandatory part of the course and must always be completed in the final week of the course to qualify for certification.

What tools will I need for the course?
You’ll need a computer or laptop with a webcam and microphone, stable internet, and basic familiarity with Google Workspace tools to save, share and upload documents, navigate an online learning platform and use video call tools for online sessions.
