Exam Preparation
Exam Preparation Courses
If you are looking to study at an English-speaking university or educational institution, you will need to score within a certain ‘band’ in an English proficiency exam. At ELC, you will find courses to prepare for IELTS, TOEFL, and higher-level Cambridge exams. These English proficiency tests are widely accepted internationally by English-speaking universities and for immigration and work purposes, as they demonstrate your ability to communicate effectively in academic and real-life contexts.
All our courses offer both theoretical and hands-on practical training to equip you with the knowledge and skills to succeed on exam day. We will support you in gaining a thorough understanding of what to expect in terms of task types and core language skill requirements.

Cambridge

Group Courses
Joining our small group classes is a great way to study English alongside other students from around the globe. At ELC we believe in peer learning where students are encouraged to take part in pair and group work. For example, you may complete a grammar exercise, discuss a topic or prepare a debate with a partner or in a group.
This technique has been shown to boost learning as students have an opportunity to practice speaking English in class and communicate their thought process in English while learning from their peers. This approach makes for more engaging and stimulating classes. Group courses range from 20 to 30 hours per week.
Private Lessons
Private classes are a good option for students who would like consolidated practice on specific language areas, one-on-one teacher guidance, and an opportunity to address any questions or concerns, or if they just prefer a private lesson learning environment. Private lessons can be taken in place of, or in addition to, group classes at a mutually convenient time.
This is also a good option for students who have limited time or those who have a short-term goal, such as preparing for an imminent job interview or completing an academic thesis. We suggest taking part in group classes as well in order to maximise your peer learning and participate in group activities.
