Happy exploring!
MyCiti bus
If you’re travelling on a budget, we recommend using MyCiti bus service to navigate around the city and the Atlantic Seaboard. It is a safe, reliable and cheap way of getting around. You will need to buy a MyCiti bus card and load money onto it to travel. The nearest kiosk from us is Adderley Station but you can top up your card at Spar on Kloof Street.
Uber
If you’re venturing to a tourist destination or going somewhere with friends, your best bet is to take an Uber. Sharing an Uber with friends will bring the costs down. All you need to do is download the app and link one of your bank cards to it. This is a safe way to get from point A to B, even at night. Be sure to rate your driver after your ride!
Hop on-Hop off bus
Get on the double-decker Hop on-Hop off bus for a fun way to discover the city. The tickets are affordable and you get to choose where you want to stop and explore the area at your own pace. The buses come by approximately every 20 minutes and there are four routes to choose from. You'll even get a discount with your UCT student card!
